Salem Stamp Society has a large selection of catalogs, books and periodicals available to assist club members in both their philatelic education and their research of philatelic interests. A benefit of being a member of Salem Stamp Society is that you are invited to make use of this library to further your philatelic hobby. Click here for a listing of our library holdings. You can use the Search feature in your browser to home in on the topic you want. As of September 30, the date this list was mounted, Lisa had included about half of our holdings. More will be added over time, to make the library even more useful to you. You have access to a wide range of stamp catalogs, periodicals, basic stamp collecting information, auction catalogs, topical collecting, and postal history. This is just naming a few of the subject areas available. To provide you with access to the library, the librarian brings a wide selection of books and periodicals to each monthly general meeting. You can check out books and periodicals at that time. As the librarian I have found this has been the best way to give our members access to the library. The check out period is for one month with the member returning the item at the next monthly general meeting. If the member requires a longer check-out period, arrangements can be made with the librarian. Located on the library table at the general club meeting is a composition book to record the item or items you are choosing to checkout. Please record the date, your name, and title of the item you are checking out that month. The Library is on the Honor System so please make sure to follow the check-out process and return books and periodicals to the Library in a timely manner. When returning items, please write returned next to the item you listed in the composition book. As a Library we are always looking to add new content. If you have philatelic material that you would like to donate to our Library please get in contact with your librarian at any time.
