Founded in 1933, Salem Stamp Society is located in Salem, Oregon. It is dedicated to the hobby of philately which includes all aspects of stamp collecting. The club is affiliated with the American Philatelic Society (APS) and was an early member of the Northwest Federation of Stamp Clubs which is a sponsor of the Pacific International Philatelic Exposition (PIPEX) that is held in Portland, Oregon each year. We are a State of Oregon Non-profit organization.
Salem Stamp Society currently holds monthly meetings on the second Wednesday of each month. Members begin gathering around 6 PM to buy, sell, trade stamps, look at the meeting’s auction materials, or just visit. Meeting programs are varied and have included APS slide shows, presentations by club members and members from other organizations. Meetings also feature door prizes, special drawings, and a silent auction bid board. There are two club sponsored auctions a year; two member’s auctions a year where the members provide the auction materials; and two nights where every member is a dealer or a trader. The club sponsors STAMPEX, which is a stamp bourse and exhibition. It is held twice a year, once in the Spring and again in the Fall. STAMPEX events draw collectors and dealers from the entire Pacific Northwest.
The society’s second Wednesday meetings are held at Marion County Fire District #1, 300 Cordon Road NE, Salem. The meetings are open to all. Please drop by!
